Engineering the Modern UPVC Door

A modern UPVC door is a precision engineered thermal barrier. Unlike older generations of plastic doors, our contemporary systems use multi chambered profiles and internal steel reinforcement to provide maximum structural integrity.

Whether you require a front, back, or side entrance, our UPVC doors offer a versatile and cost effective solution without compromising on security or insulation.

The Range of uPVC Door Styles We Install

uPVC Front Doors

Your front door is the primary focal point of your property and its first line of defence. Our UPVC front doors combine high security multi point locking with elegant design. Each door is built with reinforced frames and impact resistant panels to ensure it withstands both the elements and attempted forced entry. With a vast range of colours and decorative glazing options available, we can create a bespoke entrance that perfectly matches the character of your home while significantly improving its thermal efficiency.

A modern home with a upVC Back Door

uPVC Back Doors

Back doors are often targeted by intruders, which is why we apply the same rigorous security standards to our back doors as we do our front doors. Available in solid panel, half glazed, or fully glazed configurations, these doors are ideal for kitchens, utility rooms, and garages. The toughened safety glass and internally beaded frames ensure that the glazing cannot be removed from the outside, providing you with total peace of mind without sacrificing natural light.

uPVC French Doors

UPVC French doors offer a classic, timeless aesthetic that seamlessly connects your interior living space with your garden or patio. Our French doors feature a high security master and slave locking system, ensuring both doors are firmly secured when closed. Designed with slim sightlines to maximise the amount of glass, they allow a flood of natural light into your home. Like all our products, they are fitted with advanced weather seals to ensure they remain completely draught free during the winter months.

uPVC Sliding doors

uPVC Sliding Doors

Our UPVC sliding doors are designed to provide expansive views and effortless operation. These doors are the perfect solution for homes where space is at a premium, as they do not require a swing arc to open. Engineered with stainless steel tracks and high performance rollers, they glide open smoothly regardless of their size. The multi point hook locking system and anti lift blocks ensure that these large glass expanses remain incredibly secure against intruders.

Choosing the Right Style for Your Property

Selecting the right UPVC door is about balancing your property’s architectural style with modern performance requirements. Our range is designed to suit a wide variety of home styles:

Period Charm: For traditional homes, UPVC entrance doors can be designed with four or six panel styles and decorative glazing that complement period properties.

Modern Efficiency: For newer homes, clean panel designs or sliding patio doors in finishes such as anthracite grey provide a contemporary look with strong thermal performance.

Convenience and Security: For busy households or urban areas, high security UPVC doors fitted with anti snap cylinders and multi point locking provide dependable protection.

Rustic Character: For cottages and rural properties, UPVC stable doors in heritage colours such as Chartwell Green offer traditional farmhouse styling combined with modern draught proof seals.

Technical Specifications: The BirleyMoor Standard

Because our founder Dave Elston spent decades in senior quality control roles for major manufacturers, we do not install builder grade budget profiles. We select UPVC systems based on their wall thickness, UV stability, and hardware compatibility.

Profile Engineering

Our doors feature multi chambered internal structures that trap air to create an effective thermal break.

Structural Integrity

Frames are reinforced with galvanised steel to prevent warping and help the door stay correctly aligned within the opening.

Fire Resistance

UPVC materials are naturally resistant to ignition and help slow the spread of fire when installed within compliant door systems.

Appearance

UPVC doors used to fade and discolour in sunlight over time. Modern uPVC maintains its colour and woodgrain texture for decades.

The Brands That We Trust

FACTS & INFORMATION

uPVC Doors FAQs

Yes. As of the most recent updates to Building Regulations (Document L), replacement doors must achieve a U-value of 1.4 $W/m^2K$ or better. Our UPVC systems comfortably exceed these requirements, often outperforming older composite doors. Because we are Certass registered, we provide the official compliance certificate required when you eventually sell your home.

Lock-snapping is a common method used to bypass older Euro-cylinder locks. We prevent this by fitting TS007 3-Star Kitemarked anti-snap cylinders as standard. These locks are designed to sacrifice the outer part of the cylinder if attacked, leaving the internal mechanism locked and the door secure.

While many people think they need expensive acoustic glass, much of the noise reduction comes from the frame. Our doors feature multi-chambered profiles and dual-compression seals that create an airtight fit. When combined with high-spec double or triple glazing, they can significantly reduce decibel levels from nearby roads or urban environments.

This was a problem with “builder-grade” doors from 20 years ago. Modern, high-quality UPVC uses advanced UV stabilisers. These chemical additives protect the material from the sun’s rays, ensuring the “bright white” or coloured foil finish remains stable and the material stays flexible (not brittle) for its 25–30 year lifespan.

Maintenance is minimal but essential for longevity. We recommend:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the frames with warm soapy water twice a year (avoid solvent cleaners).

  • Lubrication: Apply a light silicone-based lubricant to the multi-point locking hooks and hinges annually.

  • Checks: Ensure the drainage holes in the bottom of the frame are clear of debris

Yes. UPVC is naturally fire-retardant. It does not easily ignite, and if the heat source is removed, it is self-extinguishing. This makes it a much safer choice for modern building safety compared to traditional timber doors
